Chocolate and books, what a match made in heaven.

Hello readers!

I am so excited to be back doing another book tag. I love sharing my favorite books with you all.

This book tag hits all the sweet spots of a book worms heart. (See what I did there?)

Let’s jump in!

This post may contain affiliate links which means by clicking or purchasing from said links, I may receive a small commission.

Dark Chocolate

A book that covers a dark topic (abuse, domestic violence, rape, loneliness, bullying, death, etc)

Silence by Natasha Preston

I did not expect to fall in love with this series, especially because of the topics it covers. If you are looking for something outside of your comfort zone then I recommend Silence because it is tastefully written while also dealing with the difficult topic of rape.

White Chocolate

Your Favorite light-hearted/humorous read

The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde

Some people say that classic literature is too serious and I should pick up a lighter read. Clearly, they haven’t read The Importance of Being Earnest. You’ve got imaginary friends, mixed identities, and lots of cucumber sandwiches. (If you’ve read the story you’ll understand.)

This is one of the few books on my university syllabus that I have read multiple times.

Milk Chocolate

A book that has a lot of hype that you’re dying to read.

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

Little Women has been at the top of my TBR list for so long! I think that it is important for girls to read this book because Jo has such a strong personality that young girls could look up to.

(I caved and watched the most recent movie and it was AMAZING.)

Chocolate with a caramel center

Name a book that made you feel all gooey in the middle while you were reading it.

Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery

This book brings a smile to my face whenever I think about it. It’s a story about finding where you belong and the struggles to get there. Anne is such a loving character and it is hard not to fall in love with all the characters in the book.

Wafer-free Kit-Kat

Name a book that surprised you lately.

The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides

I feel like I write about this book a lot. I just have some strong opinions on it.

This book certainly surprised me because I thought I had certain events predicted and I was never right. It always left me confused as to what was going to happen next. The Marriage Plot certainly shows that life is far more unpredictable than we can imagine.

Snickers

A book that you are going nuts about.

The Wife by Meg Wolitzer

All female writers NEED to read this book. Actually ALL writers should read this book.

It is so hard not to give away any spoilers because I just have so many thoughts. But I will say that this book shows some of the dark sides of the literary world. And I think I’ll leave it there.

Hot Chocolate with cream and marshmallows

What book would you turn to for a comfort read?

Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks

This was my first Nicholas Sparks book & movie. I was skeptical because I am not super into the overly romantic books that he is known for.

Safe Haven is a whole different thing. Yes, there is a romance in the book but it is jam-packed with so much more. It is one of the few books where I had to take a break from it because I got so stressed.

Box of chocolates

What series have you read that you feel has a wide variety and a little something for everyone?

Kingdom Keepers by Ridley Pearson

Who doesn’t love Disney? I chose Kingdom Keepers for this category because, although they are YA books, adults can relate to the setting and Disney is for everyone.

These books are about a group of kids who are tasked to be holographic tour guides through the parks. Then things get weird when they show up as their holograms in Disney in the middle of the night. And weird things always happen at night, right?

In Conclusion.

I hope you all enjoyed this book tag. They are such fun and feel free to do this on your own blog and let’s keep sharing good books during this uncertain time.

Over to you.

I had so many options for each category and it was hard to choose! What would you put in these categories?

    1. Ahh, we have so much bookishness in common! Also, I accidentally read the blurb on the cover of The Wife as “Now a Major Mormon Picture” and I was supremely confused for a second. Ha!
And YES! You need to read Little Women! It’s a chunkier read than I supposed at first, but it goes down smooth. Also a good listen on audio if you prefer!

      1. I have been trying to decide which book will be my first audiobook and I think Little Women would be a great one!
