I started my bookstagram journey in July of 2020 and I so regret not starting it earlier. It is called @reallifecantimbooked

It is full of such amazing people and just being able to scroll through my instagram and see hundreds of pictures of book just brings the biggest smile to my face.

I can’t wait to tell you some of my favorite aspects! So let’s jump in.

Why did I start a bookstagram journey?

In January I started a travel instagram and I absolutely fell in love with connecting with people all over the world and being able to see their crazy adventures.

But I geared mine more towards some smaller places because those are places I love to visit. It really helped me get into a writing mode. You can find that Instagram here @smallplacesbighearts

After having that for about 7 months I decided to start up my bookstagram journey. And don’t get me wrong I love my travel instagram but I will always have a deeper connection to books.

You can find it @reallifecanimbooked

“My Best Friend is a person who will give me a book I have not read.” -Abraham Lincoln. 📚 I love reading biographies just as much as fiction. There is something so special about having in-depth knowledge on a person’s life. You get to see the side the public knew, but also the side shown in private. 📚 Anyone else love a good biography? . . . . #bookstagram #bookblogger #bookcommunity #readmore #bibliophile #bookrecomendations #bookporn #bookishgirl #readinggoals #bookgirls #bookaddiction #bookshelf #bookaholics #lovetoreadbooks #allthebooks #literature #librarylover #totalbooknerd #bookworms #fortheloveofreading #presidents #abelincoln #abrahamlincoln #quotes #biographies #biographical #lincoln #bookphotography #bookstagrammer #bookpictures

What have I learned during my bookstagram journey?

I have learned SO much! And it has been so wonderful.

First of all my TBR and to buy lists have gone through the roof. I just see all these wonderful reviews and photos of beautiful books and I just want to have them all.

I also learned about how inclusive the bookstagram community is. Even before I had posted my first photo, I had people messaging me and welcoming to the community. And then when I did post my first picture everyone was so kind and it made me feel really happy and welcomed!

Also I have learned the importance of uniformity on my page because that’s what gets me great engagements.

Who are my favorite bookstagrammers?

Honestly if I wrote down all of my favorites then this whole post would just me lists of names. So instead I will give you my top 5.

  1. @catcherinthelib
    • First of all her name is just so fun because it includes her favorite book as well as her love of reading. She is from Canada and she seems like such a cool girl and the type that will be friends with anyone.
  2. @theespressoedition
    • Her flat lays are something to be admired for sure! Especially since it is fall they are so cozy and I just want to insert myself into her pictures. Her Instagram is one that I have gone back to for inspiration for @reallifecantimbooked
  3. @booksturnyouon
    • Catia is from Portugal so I don’t always know what she is speaking but her photos are so real. I have loved watching her journey of packing up her books, moving, and then unpacking. She seems like she has such a chill lifestyle and I love it.
  4. @hotcocoareads
    • I would call her photos chaotically beautiful. And her home library is to DIE for. It reminds me of the library in Beauty and the Beast. Her page has also turned me onto Rogue Cocoa which is by far some of the best hot cocoa I have ever had.
  5. @jwilliamnessworthy
    • Definity the classiest bookstagram that I follow. A lot of his book posts are about the classic which is my favorites too so it is wonderful to see different covers of some of my favorite books.

In conlusion

I am so excited to grow my bookstagram more and share my love of books with even more people!
